Your Spiritual Self-Care Code:
Balance Your Heart Chakra
The heart chakra is located, you guessed it, beneath the heart. It is the center of love, affection, compassion, connection, gratitude, generosity, and joy. When the heart chakra is imbalanced, it’s common to feel fear around giving and receiving love, trauma, lack of trust, anger, jealousy, and sadness.
Transform Your Fear
Humans are wired to feel afraid of anything that threatens us. It doesn’t matter if you’re threatened by a real danger or a perceived one, your body will release all sorts of stress hormones, your nervous system will be on edge, and your heart will feel guarded and afraid.
The good news is, you’re not alone, and there’s a simple antidote to release the grip of fear and find peace. That antidote is love and all of the emotions that go along with it: trust, compassion, acceptance, and non-judgment— all of these emotions have the power to quell fear and put it back in it’s rightful place. The opposite of fear isn’t hate, it’s love.
Whenever you feel fear taking over, remind yourself that love is the answer. Choose to trust. Choose to be gentle with yourself. Choose to be compassionate with others. Choose love.
Open Your Heart to New Possibilities
Another way the heart chakra can become blocked is when you let the past imprint itself of your present reality. When past traumas are a key influence for how you live your life today, you block yourself from new possibilities.
To let go of the past and open up to the potential of the present moment, you need to give yourself permission to fully feel and grieve and experience all of the intense emotions that go along with it.
It’s easy to tell yourself to just move on or get over it, but this approach doesn’t heal your past, it simply hides it in a way that forces your pain to manifest in other ways. Face it, feel it, and know that it’s all part of the process.
Try using some essential oils that help balance the heart chakra. Rose, frankincense and sweet orange are great options to add to your diffuser or simply rub a few drops into your hands and take 10 deep breaths whenever you’re feeling scattered.

Real World Self-Care
Self-care is a major buzzword in the stressed out world of today. It’s the kind of blanket statement advice you hear everywhere, with few strategies around what it really means and how to do it.
At Radiant Botanics, we believe in real world self-care. The idea that self-care doesn’t have to be 2 hour trips to the spa and vacations in Bali. It can be simple, and still incredibly effective.
Something as mundane as putting on hand cream and taking a few deep breaths with your eyes closed. Choosing the salad or a hearty soup over the chilli cheese fries. Going for a 10-minute walk when you’re feeling overwhelmed. All of these things are real world acts of self-care that bring you back to balance and make life more joyful.
Incorporate more of this kind of self-care and you’ll feel more grounded, safe, and supported with each day that passes.
Your Heart Chakra Affirmation:
